Dental advice wanted – damaged tooth
I’ve just had a road accident and lost about a quarter of one and a third of my other top front teeth (the visible parts). I’ve had a preliminary meeting with my dentist but have to wait for a week now to assess the damage. Is the cost going to be mad or will it be limited by the £204 limit since it’s one course of treatment? For this size damage will it necessarily be crowns, or are there other things to ask for?
If you are having the work done under the NHS, then yes the £204 will cover all of your treatment. From the sound of things you will need crowns. You may also need root canal treatment. Why? If a tooth is bashed, as it obviously was, then it is so easy to have damaged a tooth much more than you think.
If you are having the work done privately then it will cost a lot more than £204. A private dentist will give you a choice of different types of crowns that he can use. More expensive crowns are normally much more aesthetically pleasing than crowns you would get from an NHS dentist.
Think function from the NHS, think looks and function from a private dentist.
